Scope: 3,000 sf Cafe' and Performance Venue
Café 939 is a state-of-the-art, student-run music venue and coffee house. The 200-person capacity concert venue features high-end PA and lighting systems, video and DVD capabilities, and flexible seating. The design uses elements of the existing historic building, accented by intricate mouldings, a fireplace with brick details and large arched windows. The phased renovation also included:
- installation of acoustical materials on walls, floors and ceilings;
- acoustical doors; and
- state-of-the-art AV system connected to Berklee’s radio station for live broadcasts and recordings.
