Columbia Construction worked in partnership with Mortensen Development of Denver as Construction Managers for the expansion and renovation of an existing hotel on Commonwealth Avenue in historic Kenmore Square.

The seven story addition faces the Massachusetts Turnpike and Fenway Park, and includes three floors of private valet parking for 216 vehicles, a large ballroom, an outdoor terrace overlooking Fenway’s Green Monster, meeting rooms, and private event entry and pre-function space.

The expansion also includes 96 additional guestrooms on three levels, a bridge connecting each level to the existing hotel, and upgrades to existing elevators, lobbies and public areas. The 133,400 sf structure is expected to bring in additional visitors to the area to see a Red Sox game, as well as the many businesses in the area looking to utilize the space for networking or team-building activities.
