Fit-out of Crimson Hexagon’s, a leading provider of social media analysis software, new Boston Headquarters at 253 Summer Street. Located right next to the Fort Point Channel, this 23,000 sf corporate office occupies most of the 1st floor and part of the 2nd floor.

The project included a predominantly open office plan with exposed ceilings, an interconnecting stairway, a reception area, open collaboration areas, a kitchen/café, a network computer room, and a mix of call rooms, offices, and conference rooms. Conference room, office, and call room walls and doors are glass to promote transparency and collaboration. The project also entailed the salvage and reconfiguration of existing MEP systems, and new furniture systems were installed throughout the space. Office areas feature workstations with motorized desktops, which allow employees to raise and lower individual work surfaces. The 1st floor restrooms were also fully renovated.

Constructed in 1902, the Seaport District building utilized post and beam wood construction. Columbia sand blasted residual paint to restore the wood’s natural color and capture the character of the exposed wood. With no concrete slab to polish at the entry, the design team selected a luxury vinyl that mimics the look of a polished concrete floor. Other high-end finishes included custom hexagon shaped ACT clouds, built-in banquette seating with a stainless steel foot rail, and a radius millwork counter at the exposed brick chimney.
