In a strategic move to consolidate US operations from three locations in the Greater Boston area, Dassault Systèmes (DS) relocated to new offices at 175 - 185 Wyman Street in Waltham, MA. A world leader in 3D product software, the company employs 7,900 employees worldwide and serves customers in 80 countries.
DS led an in depth and strategic selection process to put together a world-class team to create its new Boston Campus. The 225,000 sf Class-A interior office space was designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, with Columbia Construction providing preconstruction and construction management services for the interior build-out.
The new LEED Platinum office brings 800 DS employees together in one community. Key elements include an executive briefing center, a 10,000 sf state-of-the-art data center and computer labs, a training center with a virtual reality room, a full-service cafeteria, and an outdoor campus quad for meetings and socializing.
Complex mechanical and electrical building systems were installed to support the company’s business functions. Systems designed with duplication of critical components ensure there is no downtime, including standby generators, an uninterruptable power supply system, and a flywheel backup system.
The team used DS’s new software, DraftSight, to design and build out the new Wyman Street office space.
