Microsoft implemented several renovations and expansions in their Cambridge facilities, including One Cambridge Center and One Memorial Drive. On each of these projects Columbia worked with Perkins+Will to construct new offices, conference rooms, and a series of support and collaboration areas.
At One Cambridge Center, the research and software innovation campus for Microsoft’s Cambridge operations, 21,000 sf of space was fit-out to create the New England Research & Development Center (NERD). The project included many specialized finishes and systems such as Teknion style walls and curved Lightblock acrylic panels.
At One Memorial Drive, Columbia fit-out new office and conference room space on the 1st floor to support the expansion needs of the research and development departments who occupy a majority of this Cambridge high-rise.
The design of both spaces is innovative and creative, echoing Microsoft’s commitment to collaboration and the development of world-class advancements in technology.
