Spotlight On... Matt Chardavoyne: Celebrating 10 Years at Columbia

This month we want to shine the spotlight on Matt Chardavoyne, who has been with Columbia for 10 years!

As Managing Director of Business Development, Matt’s primary focus is to develop new business opportunities across the firm’s six different market sectors. He also prioritizes maintaining existing relationships in hopes of mutually beneficial collaboration on projects in the future. Since he joined the Columbia team, Matt has been a leading force in developing new business initiatives and he now works closely with the company’s principals to guide Columbia’s long term growth.

What was your first job?
I was a summer lifeguard at the Bunker Hill Pool, and it was the coolest summer job.

What have you liked most about working at Columbia?
Honestly, the people. I’ve been extremely lucky to work with like-minded people who share similar morals and values.

What lesson did you learn early-on in your career that you still carry with you today?
Your integrity and word mean everything in this business. Don’t compromise either.

Three descriptors that best describe you?
Proud Father | Music Enthusiast | Avid Swimmer

Favorite vacation spot?
Wellfleet, MA

Best concert?
Taking my daughter to her first concert. We went to see Taylor Swift at Gillette, and it was the best concert because we got to share the moment.

Matt can be found with his family and friends in his spare time – especially his daughter. You will likely find him on vacation in Wellfleet during the summer months, where he enjoys family vacations with his siblings, nieces, and nephews. A former competitive swimmer, Matt still enjoys doing laps in the pool to stay active. He also loves experiencing live music and discovering new artists. In recent years, Matt has enjoyed sharing that passion with his daughter, taking her to concerts whenever he gets the chance.
