Columbia is actively involved with a number of non-profit organizations
As a firm and as individuals, Columbia takes a leadership role in giving back to our community. Columbia is actively involved with local non-profit organizations including Breakthrough Greater Boston, Community Servings, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Easter Seals, Heading Home, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Scleroderma Foundation, and Toys for Tots.
Additionally, Columbia’s employee-led outreach committee provides many hands-on opportunities for employees to give back to the community, including an annual day of service when our team comes together in support of a selected cause. Most recently, we participated in A Bed for Every Child, an Initiative of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless to build beds for children living in poverty throughout our state. Staff is also encouraged to mentor inside and outside of the office with charities and through area institutions. As part of the non-profit Furniture Trust’s Eco-Carpentry Challenge, Columbia mentors students from local high schools each year to repurpose used office furniture into functional items for people in need. In 2018, one of our teams placed first for the bunk bed they built for a Syrian refugee boy.
