Dedicated to providing the latest in treatment options and care for critically ill patients, Lahey Hospital & Medical Center completed a 14,000 square foot renovation of an existing recovery suite into a new intensive care unit/progressive care unit for patients requiring critical care.
Completed in an occupied and active area, the renovations were handled in three phases, each requiring detailed coordination and careful sequencing, to minimize impact to patient care. Updates included the upsizing and expansion of the medical gas infrastructure serving the space. Additionally, six dedicated ICU rooms with Skytron booms, and twelve PCU rooms with Amico headwalls were also constructed. All rooms were furnished with new Guldman patient lifts.
The support spaces were also modernized and reconfigured to maximize staff collaboration and operational flexibility for the multidisciplinary health care team treating critically ill patients.
