Spotlight On... Dawn Proulx: Celebrating 15 Years at Columbia

As part of Columbia’s continued efforts to highlight employees who are celebrating a significant anniversary, we are pleased to feature Dawn Proulx who has been with us for 15 years.

Throughout her high school years, Dawn got a first-hand look at what construction was all about. While attending the Greater Lawrence Vocational Technical School, she took a CAD  course and found a passion for designing and drafting. After graduation, Dawn went on to major in Architectural Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology and held several co-ops at various architecture and construction firms. She realized this was the career path she wanted to take. As Dawn celebrates 15 years with Columbia, she is fully immersed in project management -- running some of Columbia’s larger and more complex jobs.

What have you liked most about working at Columbia?
I have built life-long friendships both inside and outside of the company through all the different projects I have worked on over the past 15 years.

How would your colleagues/clients describe you?
Determined, trustworthy, and fun!

Favorite summer or winter activity?
Winter – hockey. Both my kids play hockey, so it’s hard for me not to love it!

Favorite vacation spot?
Hawaii. I’ve been there a couple of times with my family -- it’s so peaceful and has such a slow pace lifestyle. Hawaii is a nice break from the go-go-go of everyday life.

Cat or dog?
Dog all the way! I have two: Bauer and Nanuk.

Morning person or night owl?
Definitely Morning. Every morning, I start with a fresh cup of coffee on my porch before the hustle and bustle of the day begins.

Outside the office you will likely find me…
Most likely at a hockey rink with my kids. On the rare weekend when I’m free of the hockey rink, I’ll spend it with family. I am the youngest of five, and I have lots of nieces and nephews!

Through the years, so many people have worked with Dawn and appreciate  her passion and dedication. Her wealth of experience and can-do attitude has led her teams to success time and time again. Thanks Dawn, for all your hard work!
