Spotlight On... Ian Manferdini: Celebrating 10 Years at Columbia

This month we continue the anniversary celebrations, recognizing Ian Manferdini, who has been with Columbia for 10 years.

Ian has always enjoyed building – from building Legos and forts when he was a kid to building decks and other small residential structures as a teenager. Because of that passion for construction, it became his focus when looking for a college to attend. Out of many options, Ian chose Wentworth Institute of Technology, majoring in Architectural Engineering and Construction Management. Upon graduation, he landed a job at a local construction firm and has worked as a Project Manager in the construction industry ever since.

What have you liked most about working at Columbia?
I enjoy the people and the culture at Columbia. The company focuses on maintaining a strong family environment, even as we have grown over the years. The company is always striving to improve. The trust and respect we have built with our clients over the years is our strongest trait.

Career highlight?
Having and maintaining a client (Wayfair) that has provided Columbia consistent work over eight years and is still going! As a project manager, you always strive to build and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients. To know that I’ve accomplished that is truly a career highlight – it offered me an excellent opportunity to learn and grow over the years.

Favorite summer activity?
Golfing and fishing.

Favorite vacation spot?
Our family vacations on the Cape are always a highlight.

Best concert?
I’ve lost track of how many years I have gone to Country Fest at Gillette Stadium, but I go with the same friends, and we look forward to it every year. Hopefully, it will be back in 2021!

Two items on your desk?
Pictures of my family and a cup of coffee!

Cat or dog?
Dog, we have a four-year-old English Springer Spaniel named Lucy.

Ian’s hard work and dedication have been invaluable to Columbia. His extensive project management experience, combined with his architecture background, provides a unique perspective to each project he undertakes. Happy 10 years at Columbia, Ian – we are proud to have you on our team!
