A gathering place for the Lexington community, the J.W. Hayden Recreation Centre offers a wide variety of recreational, social, athletic, instructional, and child care programs. The renovation at the privately endowed, non-profit center included a new second floor, art room, commercial teaching kitchen and ceramics studio. Additional spaces including a dance studio, and bathrooms were updated and refreshed with all new finishes.

Upgrades were performed on the building MEP systems to modernize the space, including a new HVAC system. The phased construction was conducted in a full occupied setting and scheduled child and adult programs were not impacted.
