Columbia completed two projects at Hobbs Brook Management’s property at 81 Wyman Street in Waltham. The first undertaking included taking down the original building to the steel and rebuilding it to meet the Core and Shell LEED Platinum standard. Ultimately fit-out for Cambridge Savings Bank as a separate project, the Class A office building also earned a Platinum WELL v2 pilot Certification, creating a healthy work environment that prioritizes the well-being of all occupants.

This three-story building with an elegant glass entryway features optimized interior spaces including offices, training rooms, and conference facilities appointed with ergonomic furniture and LED lighting. The expansive atrium welcomes employees to move through an inviting space with abundant natural light and offers an open staircase that promotes pedestrian traffic. Additional spaces that meet the WELL Building Standard, include a fitness center, studio space, relaxation areas, cafeteria, and outdoor patio space.

Two solar PV carports totaling 682 kW were installed over the existing parking lot as part of the Core and Shell rehabilitation and are expected to generate enough electrical power to offset a substantial portion of the demand in the office building.
