"I enjoy the camaraderie of my co-workers and the challenge and unpredictability of what we do."

Sam Dettore

Vice President | Corporate

Joined Columbia in 2000

As Vice President of Corporate Sam expertly guides clients and teams through the most sophisticated projects by drawing on his three decades of construction experience. Sam started his career as an Assistant Superintendent, and today he has refined the ability to lead technical and non-technical team members in meaningful collaboration to tackle project roadblocks and stay focused on goals. A seasoned negotiator, Sam enjoys troubleshooting challenges with his comprehensive knowledge of project scheduling, purchasing, and organizational skills. For Sam, seeing the tangible results of a completed construction project is one of the most rewarding part of his work. Since joining Columbia in 2000, Sam has managed several significant projects, and he considers the 335,000 sf corporate campus project at 175-185 Wyman Street a career highlight and a personal favorite.

After his workday, Sam’s favorite place to be is anywhere outside. Spending time with his dogs, riding his bike and enjoying time on the water reenergizes Sam. Someday he hopes to tour Italy on his bike and take in all of the amazing sights and culinary delights.
